Do you wish you could sew?

I’m sure it comes as no surprise to hear that I love to shop, particularly for goodies of the handmade persuasion. However, I must admit, from time to time I wish that I could create something wearable with my own two hands. That is, with a sewing technique and as opposed to praying not to stab myself with a needle… Introducing Maryanne and Caroline and their new business Sew Together.

Sewing Classes - Learn to Sew Kids Clothes

Maryanne and Caroline have recently launched a range of sewing classes on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. You can go along by yourself, with a friend, or even with your mothers group and learn how to sew a variety of garments and accessories such as children’s pants and appliquéd t-shirts, pillowslip dresses, bunting and a-line skirts. The introductory classes are aimed at the absolute beginner and focus on developing basic skills in both hand and machine sewing. This is such as fabulous idea!

Once you’ve built up your skills you’ll have the option of follow-on workshops which will give you the confidence to tackle more complicated projects. At the end of the class, you’ll head off home with a full set of multi-sized patterns, clearly written instructions and lots of hints, tips and inspiration.  The coolest part though, is the variety of completed garments and accessories that you’ve made during the class. How cute is the pillowcase dress?
