The Good Ms Padgett has just released her third full-length album, If We Must We Must, which is co-produced with Daniel Littleton of Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower. Sweet and melodic, the album features guest performances by Ms. P’s family: partner Miggy Littleton and 7-year-old daughter, Penelope. I’m loving both the album and the super cool Brooklyn, NY skate shoot!
There are some absolutely lovely original songs on this album, like ‘No such thing as monsters’ and ‘Tattle to the turtle’ which are educational, reassuring, and fun. I also love the imaginative story-telling aspect of tracks such as ‘lollipop nightmare’ and ‘trees don’t need sippy cups’ – however, my favourite listening moment from this album came when track five jumped into action… a cover of The Vaselines’ ‘Molly Lips’ – re-imagined by Ms Padgett and her daughter Penelope. Listen to it once and it just might become your new favourite song to sing to your little poppet. Very cool indeed!
