Australian T-shirt Tour - Pencil & Thread

DAY 4 – Allow me to introduce Pocket Buddy, a cool creation by artist/graphic designer, Shannon Dyson from Pencil & Thread. This little guy is available in a range of different colours for both babies and kids, and is screen printed with water based inks onto a 100% cotton tee. Pocket Buddy loves to tag along on adventures, and is sure to be well loved by all ages.

About Pencil & Thread…

Pencil & Thread was launched in March 2014 and is a new label that is making its way into the industry with uniquely illustrated tees for all age groups. Shannon’s illustrations are hand drawn in pencil on paper (or sometimes hand painted in acrylics and watercolour) and then scanned and edited on the computer ready for print.

Shannon explains, “I wanted to bring back that hand drawn feel of illustration to everyday fashion and homewares. As a child I was always drawn to illustrated t-shirts, so I created Pencil & Thread to allow other kids and adults to share my passion”.

Pencil & Thread tries to consider the environment in everything they do; using water based inks and soy based cleaning products in the printing process.

Pencil & Thread have recently released a range of art prints, greeting cards, and cushions, with more new releases planned for 2015. Shannon says, “I’m currently working on a tee that is based on a fairy tale… Here is a clue: “Grandmother, what big teeth you have!”
