Hot off the press! A brand new (and frankly awesome) little handmade label named knobbly. (wow, that’s a tongue twister) has just been launched! Based in Brisbane, chief designer Justine kicked off her Etsy store a few weeks ago and we’re super excited to share some snaps of her handcrafted wall*knobs. I’ve just installed this yellow lightning bolt and I’m feeling pretty darn handy…
It was tough to pick a design from the knobbly. range as they’re all heaps of fun! I opted for the yellow lightning bolt as it matches well with our decor and it just looks really, really cool. I’m loving the pop of yellow against our ivory walls!
Each knobbly. wall*knob is made from Australian plywood and hand-painted in modern hues. They measure 7cm x 5cm x 1.6cm, and once installed are very sturdy and will hold up to 10kgs. The current range includes clouds, bunnies, stars, pineapples, and lightning bolts, with heaps of different colours available. We’re using ours to hang shoes at the moment, but this knob would also work well with bags, necklaces (I want a bunny knob for my own room), hats… you name it!
The verdict… Everything looks cooler on a knobbly. wall*knob!
Justine from knobbly lives in Brisbane with her husband and two mini dachshunds. She describes herself as “a girly-girl who loves everything pink and pretty”… but she also loves having her own workshop (garage), stocked with power tools! Justine says, “I love the whole process of making my wall*knobs. I have a local business cut my shapes for me out of sustainable plywood, and I do everything else – the sanding, drilling, painting and finishing. It’s a massive sense of accomplishment to make something, especially something that I’m proud of, and that someone is wanting to buy”.
Alongside knobbly., Justine also runs Confetti & Cake, a party supply business. Her creative exploration into her new business knobbly. was driven by her desire to create her own products. She also credits Nicole from Zilvi for inspiring her to “stop thinking about it and just do it”.
