Quirky Products from UncommonGoods (& giveaway)!

Late last year we had a whale of a time shopping at Brooklyn-based ethical design hub UncommonGoods (for the very first time). Today we’d like to share a few more of our favourites, including the Black Cat Headphones, Said What? Journal, and Magbot Magnetic Block Set. Oh, and we also have a Magbot set to giveaway! Hooray!

UncommonGoods bring together super cool artists from around the globe who create unique, stylish, sustainable, and handcrafted products. We love these guys because they put ethics before profits; paying their workers well above minimum wage and working hard to contribute to local communities. In fact, the UncommonGoods ‘Better to Give’ program has donated over a million dollars to charities around the world.

Our first review product was chosen purely for its quirk factor. Designed by Stacy Underwood, these Black Cat Headphones feature a soft, hand-crocheted cover with little pink ears. I use them on my desktop computer while I’m working, and quite frankly, they make me smile every time I put them on… I reckon they would make a superb birthday gift for a cat lover. Check out some more birthday gift ideas here.

Our second review product, the Said What? Journal, was chosen from the UncommonGoods children’s gifts category. This book is the perfect place to record all the hilarious and adorable things that your kids say, so that you may delight and embarrass them at their 21st birthday party (well, that’s my plan anyway…) It features 94 colourful pages with plenty of room for quotes (plus drawings and photos if you’re so inclined).

Last up today we have the Magbot Magnetic Block Set. As a robot mad family, this set has quickly become a new playtime favourite. It’s suitable for kids from 1 year up, so even the tiniest members of the family can enjoy the robotty goodness. Magbot is made from sustainably harvested wood, sourced from Central America. He is durable and can withstand toddler antics (including being launched from dinner table level to see if he can fly…)

We love this guy!
