Laura Berg is young mum with two beautiful children; 3 year old Maddison & 6 month old Cameron. She resides in Smithton, Tasmania and was driven to start her label after Maddison was born. Laura explains, “I was making Maddison clothes to wear and was receiving lots of compliments. It took me a while to work up the courage to start selling some of my designs, but since then, I haven’t looked back! I am so excited about the future and have so many plans… If only there was more time in the day”.
Living in Tassie means it’s almost always cold, so Laura decided that long pants would be a keystone of her business. She explains, “Leggings are a staple in just about every child’s wardrobe, but I wanted to mix things up a bit and came up with idea of a romper style that can be paired with long sleeves for winter, and is also versatile enough to transition through the seasons”.
The Grizzle Bear collection is made with both boys and girls in mind. Laura works exclusively with organic fabrics and has a fondness for designers such as Andrea Lauren, Elvelyckan and Kimsa. She seeks out patterns and prints that stand out from the crowd and enjoys offering something unique and stylish for the little folk. Laura says, “I am not really a big fan of floral, and now that I have a boy to make for too I really love the geometric bears, stags and foxes! Plus most of our fabric choices look great on both girls and boys”.
