Creative Cravings… Mitten-gating Circumstances

Hey-ho! My fingers have started get a bit too frosty in the mornings now that we’re so close to winter, and as such, I was inspired to pick out a few pairs of mittens (and fingerless gloves) for today’s Creative Cravings. It’s hard to pick a favourite, but I must admit, those googly-eyed pandas on the top right are pretty darned adorable… Keep’ it cosy!

In honour of all things feminine and sweet, this morning I’d like to introduce you to Kelly from Cassidy’s Collection. Kelly is celebrating the one year anniversary of her label in May; a label which has grown from the original shabby chic headpieces (still super popular today) to a full range of lovingly handmade clothing and accessories.

Each piece in Cassidy’s Collection is individually handmade using high quality trimmings and embellishments sourced from all around the world. They are lovely for gifts, and would certainly make a beautiful keepsake for a special occasion. My favourite is the blush pink “Verity” headband with the pearl and rhinestone cluster, as pictured at the top of the page.

Silla Soup… Hair Clip Loveliness.

I’ve seen a lot of hair clips in my time, but today these lovely creations from from Silla Soup caught my eye… and then tickled my fancy! Each one is hand-cut, hand-beaded and then attached to a 1.75 inch alligator clip. The fabrics are fresh, fabulous and provide the perfect finishing touch to an outfit, as a clip, or as a brooch.

Oooh, I have a big crush on these Felt Factory cuties from Flushing, New York! The collection is 100% handmade from felt by designer and sewer, Jenny Jeon and includes slippers, bags, plush toys, key chains, purses and accessories. I’m crazy about these little blue cat pouches.

This morning I stumbled upon these adorable hand sewn coin purses from UK based designer lazydoll. Each purse is made from cotton and linen with a metal frame and a selection of adorable fabrics and embroidery. I like the little red and white gingham number with the “Bunny Girl” design. So sweet.

In recent months, I’ve developed a little soft spot for suspenders. There’s something so whimsical about them, whether they are paired with a bow tie in a geek chic ensemble, sprinkled with sparkle in a jazz inspired number, matched with a pair of rolled cuff jeans in “Ponyboy” greaser style, or worn with a flat cap and a pair of trousers in little man vintage style.
