Charity Auction Last Day of Bidding + Bonus Items!

To my dear friends and supporters of the wonderful Cuddle Craft Collective. {KID} independent has been so proud to support this wonderful cause to raise funds for the beautiful children of Bonga, Ethiopia. So far, through your generous auction bids, we have managed to raise over double our original goal of $2000.

We are now headed towards $5000 and with your help, we believe that we can reach this goal by the end of bidding at 5pm today (25 March, 2012). To help us hit the big 5k, two lovely ladies, Natasha from MEND by Ruby Grace and Katy from Little YoYo Styles, have graciously offered two last minute goodies for auction. Head over to the auction page and place your bids!

The winning bidder will have the chance to work with Natasha from MEND by Ruby Grace to create a custom doll, with a choice of yarn or felt hair, moveable arms sewn on with vintage buttons, removable clothing, colours and trims, etc. Bidding starts at $20 and ends at 5pm on Sunday 25 March. It’s valued at around $85, but the experience will be priceless.

This awesome Bobles Tumbling Elephant from Little YoYo Styles is lime green and features six layers of fun. Use it as furniture, or use it for play. Bidding starts at $20 and ends at 5pm on Sunday 25 March, 2012. It’s valued at $189.

To everyone involved in the Cuddle Craft Collective auction, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This whole experience has been a win for team work and a deep expression of the love that we all feel for the children of the world.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve had the sheer joy of coordinating a project called Cuddle Craft Collective and on my travels I met the lovely Jenni Harley from cloth and thread. Jenni’s collection of custom made dolls are so enchanting that they make my heart sing (which is very fitting since it’s Valentine’s Day)! Here’s a lovely little peek…

You’ll be able to bid on one of these divine dollies in the Cuddle Craft Collective Charity Auction from 18 – 25 March 2012. You can pre-register for the auction by LIKING the Cuddle Craft Facebook page.

Itty Bitty Bundles of Cuteness

I’m up super early today because I’m working on an fun new project that will be launching soon (excitement)! Since I’m in such a good mood, I thought it was only fitting to kick off the day something super cute that would give you all a smile. These little handmade softies are crafted by Katie from The Crafty Little Fox.

Katie loves to work with bright colours and bold patterns. She makes her plush toys from a mix of cotton and felt. You can find her on Madeit.

To all the lovely Mums of even lovelier daughters, today’s subscriber’s giveaway is especially for you. It is simply impossible to scroll to the bottom of this post without a twinkle in your eye and a quaint little smile creeping across your lips. Perhaps there’ll also be the odd “oooh” or anticipatory “ahhh” as you imagine winning one of these handmade delights from Oh! Veronica!

Although I don’t know for certain the story behind the name of this fabulous Australian handmade label, I can only assume it comes from a series of enchanted customers exclaiming… “Oh! Veronica! What a beautiful dress!!”

Designer and sewing extraordinaire Angela Veronica has an eye for beautiful fabrics and a special fondness for those that “are reminiscent of vintage french textiles found in turn-of-the-century Parisian homes”. Angela uses design elements such as shirring and open sleeves to extend the life of her garments, with dresses converting easily into tops as your child grows.

Nutty November… Tom and Molly Giveaway!

Wahoo! It’s the 1st of the November, can you BELIEVE it? The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the surf is beckoning and it’s just a hop, skip and jump to Christmas. Kicking off the month in fabulous handmade style, today I’m chuffed to present a giveaway from our friends at Tom and Molly!
