Earlier this week I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle Gillespie from newly launched “little inca” and have been admiring a few of the new additions in her store. The collection is crafted in Peru by local artisans and features unique dresses and accessories for girls aged 6 months – 8 years.

Michelle was inspired to start little inca upon returning to Australia after living in Peru. She spent considerable time sourcing the perfect garments, working with businesses that focus on helping Peruvian entrepreneurs and artisans showcase their talents, give back to their communities and work towards sustainable economical development.

My favourite item in the little inca range is the “tie up” dress with its lovely hand embroidered springtime scene {pictured above}. It’s also available with a crocheted neckline, with hand embroidered Llamas and Lady Bugs, so sweet!

Most of the little inca garments are made from fine Peruvian Pima cotton, making them easy to care for and soft to touch. The current range is available as a limited edition release, with more items to come in the new year.

These kitschy and cute ruffle-bum bloomers are handmade with tiers of lacy ruffles covering a stretchy bloomer with a soft elastic waist. Wild Blossoms is a stitchy project by Marina Taylor, Mum to little Lucy and Leo, and lover of beautiful things. Her current collection draws inspiration from the innocence and fun of childhood, with pretty, simple styles in a delicate colour palette.
