I love art. I love design. I love decorating. And I tend to live by the old adage that variety is the spice of life. No great surprise then that I’m also very fond of these awesome fabric-paper wall decals from chocovenyl. This week I had the pleasure of trying out a chocovenyl set first hand, scroll down for our Dig It! review.

There are tons of wall decals on the market these days, but what makes chocovenyl unique is the fact that their range is designed by leading artists, designers and illustrators from around the world. This gives you the opportunity to create a feature wall or work of art that fits in perfectly with your child’s interests and decor.
You’ll even see a few pieces from our buddy Travis Price from Australian kids label Mister Mista in the collection. I’m a big fan of Travis’ art work, and have three of his super cool prints adorning my office walls and keeping me company each day with their whimsical smiling faces.

Five reasons why we dig chocovenyl…

- Super cool feature walls without the big price tag.
- Made from durable materials with cool fabric texture.
- Repositionable if you make a mistake or change your mind.
- Easy to apply, even by the little folk.
In honour of lazy Sundays and lounging around on the deck sipping lemonade and eating pikelets {a fond childhood memory} I thought I’d bring you a few snaps of the Kouch collection. I’m digging this “kouch on tour” photoshoot… look at those little legs go!

Kouch make all of their kids sized couches by hand {in Melbourne} from heavy duty commercial fabric which is safe for kids, and built to last. The range is designed for little people between 1 – 5 years, with enough room to share with mum, dad, or a buddy. The thing I love most about Kouch is that it is modern enough to fit right in with your furniture and isn’t emblazoned with mass produced characters or cartoons.

The vital stats… Kouch is designed with spines in mind {with input from leading chiropractors}, it has a solid frame which makes tipping over almost impossible, it is stain resistant, the colours are customisable and it comes with a life time craftsmanship guarantee. Nice work!

Kouch is available for purchase online or through selected stockists.
One of my favourite things is creating fun spaces for little ones that are filled with character and imagination. This week I had the pleasure of meeting a couple who share the same passion… Introducing Stephen and Catherine Doric, the talented souls behind Australian business Little Tree Art.

Based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Stephen and Catherine share their home and workspace with their almost teenage daughter named Uma, and three house rabbits (1 black and 2 white with speckles) who can be found sleeping under their beds in the heat of the day, and playing and weeding out in the garden at night. They come and go as they please through their little flap door and are house trained. Such clever buns.

The sweet characters above are the work of Stephen Doric, who has a background in animation but loves to paint and draw in a variety of styles. All designs in the Little Tree Art range may be customised {at no additional cost} with your child’s name, hair, skin and eye colours, along with features such as team colours on football jerseys, an extra unicorn for a princess or a even a pair of glasses.
One of the stand out features of the Little Tree Art range is the incorporation of 3-d features such as fabric skirts on the princesses and fairies and papier mache seagulls and footballs for the boys. There’s also plenty of sparkles and glitter for girls who like that sort of thing!

Keep a look out for the new Tennis Boy design coming soon, followed by a fishing design for boys and Babushka doll theme for girls. Little Tree Art canvases come in 2 sizes; large {20″ x 24″} and small {10″ x 12″} and are ready to hang straight on the wall.
We’re very excited to have one large custom canvas valued at $160 to giveaway to a lucky little person! To find out more, or enter the competition, please visit our competition page.
This weekend we’re off to see Alice in Wonderland! I’m awfully excited, mostly because I’ve been a fan since my Dad read the story to me as a child. I’m also prone {much to the chagrin of my husband} to throwing around one-liners such as “Oh, you’re nothing but a pack of cards”, “we’re all mad here” and my Dad’s favourite “off with her head!”

In honour of the re-release of Alice in Wonderland, we bring you Alice’s decorating tips for kids rooms {and elsewhere}… a journey through the looking glass, if you will. I was delighted and amazed to see so many talented artists inspired by Alice’s adventures. My favourite discovery was the Alice in Wonderland Print Set by The Poppy Tree. I love Kelly Ann’s modern interpretation of the many different faces of Alice. In fact, so smitten am I that I decided to show you the whole set.
