I like to live by the motto in life that if you can choose natural and avoid chemicals, that’s the common sense way to go. In recent years, the rise in organic bath, body and home products has meant that it’s also the lush way to go. I had the pleasurable task of trying out a few goodies from the Starling organic collection over the weekend… here’s a little snap shop!

Starling is the brainchild of Western Australian Mum and part-time registered nurse, Nadine Lee. Her fragrant range of bath, body and home products are made from essential oils, herbs, and organic materials.

Starling produce a range of Aromatherapy Sprays for sniffs & snuffles, sweet dreams, relaxation, ouchies, stinkies and bities along with Loose Leaf Teas, Candles and Massage Oils. Australia Day is just around the corner, and I have officially added the “don’t bite me” spray to our picnic basket ready for our trip to the beach on Thursday! We gave it a trial run over the weekend, and it’s definitely a winner! I’ve also tucked in the “ouchie spray”… you know, just in case!

I love the fact that most of Starling’s goodies include tea tree (it really is a wonder oil). The fragrances of Nadine’s products are also quite lovely with combinations of lavender, geranium, eucalyptus, rosemary, lemon and bergamot.

Hooray, we’ve looped around the week to another Wild Wednesday Giveaway! Organic Collection from Little Bird, Little Bird

Happy Friday! Today’s fresh baked collection comes to you from Little Bird, Little Bird; the brand new label from eco-designer Rachel Bending {also the inspirational mind behind Bird Textiles}. Rachel is based in the Byron Bay Hinterland in NSW and utilises sustainable practices in all aspects of her business from her organic fabrics to the use of solar power in her studio.

Little Bird, Little Bird garments are made from a selection of stunning organic fabrics which are hand printed using water based dyes. I personally love the rich colours and patterns. They remind me of native Australian fauna and after seeing the fabrics up close, I can tell you that they are beautifully lightweight, high on quality and on style.

Little Bird, Little Bird will be released in small, limited edition collections and will be available exclusively online. The initial launch will happen in September, and will cater for little ladies up to 3 years. A bespoke service will also be available.

Old Plastic Bags… Fabulous New Life!

I recently enjoyed reading a wonderful feature and creative project by Jessica Haley on Joyfolie and thought you might find it inspiring too. Jessica was inspired by The Reusers Guide to Green Living to create some shoes from materials that would otherwise be discarded. The result was this collection of upcycled cuties.

The first pair in the collection {pictured above} are made from a bunch of brown plastic grocery bags from a local general store. The second pair {picture below} is made from a Starbucks Coffee Bag, and the final pair, sporting a bright red logo that is no doubt familiar to you, is made from a Target plastic shopping bag. Aren’t they amazing?!

Fresh Baked Friday… Zoo Babies!

If there’s one thing that always makes me smile, it’s shopping for itty bitty baby goodies for showers, birthdays, christenings {well, any excuse really…}. Today I stumbled across the Zoo Babies collection of organic onesies by design Vanja Kragulj and promptly added them to my favourites list.

Zoo Babies onesies are made from GOTS/SKAL certified organic cotton, combed for softness and comfort and dyed using non-toxic azo-free dyes. Each one features an adorable screenprinted graphic and comes pre-packaged and ready for gift giving.
