Daisy loves to spend time out doors in the sunshine. She is lovingly handmade using a mixture of upcyled and new fabrics. The upcycled/thrifted fabrics from Leah’s personal stash are a combination of vintage chenille, some vintage pillow slip fabric, and a vintage doily.
Leah from Vintage Chenille started her handmade business about 2 years ago whilst she was taking maternity leave from her part time job (to have her 4th baby). For the past 8 years Leah has lived in a very small country area just outside of Mildura in northern Victoria. She draws her inspiration from anything old fashioned, and her ever expanding collection of vintage linen always inspires her to create, as does having a baby girl after 3 boys! In Leah’s store you’ll find all sorts of softies, dolls, quilts and rattles.
Welcome to day twenty-seven of the Plushie Palooza Toy Festival. Today’s supreme sweetness is lovingly handmade by Kellie from Kellie Noelle Designs. If you’re simply aching to give little Pippa a cuddle, don’t forget to tell us in the comments section below. Each comment will count as a vote for Kelly Noelle Designs towards the Golden Plushie award.
Pippa is a precious baby bunny. Her fur is velvet soft. She spends her mornings drinking blackberry tea, and nibbling carrot cookies. After breakfast, she likes to curl up in her cozy nest for a little snooze. Pippa is sewn from a repurposed, 100% cashmere sweater in a plush fawn color. She has vintage, shell-button eyes. She is roughly 4 inches high x 5 inches long x 3 inches wide. Please note, this creation contains small parts, therefore it should be used for decorative purposes only, or under careful adult supervision.
Located in Lincoln, Nebraska, Kellie began selling her plushies on Etsy in 2009, but has been in love with fiber art ever since she could sneak her mother’s bobbin box out of her sewing machine drawer. These days, she creates imaginative pieces out of wholesome, up-cycled, materials. Cashmere is her favorite material to work with because it is so soft and and perfect for creating something darling for a sweet child to love. In addition to the pieces shown in her Etsy shop, Kellie also loves to create special custom pieces for anyone looking to give something special to someone special.
Welcome to day twenty-six of the Plushie Palooza Toy Festival. Today’s fresh summer sweetie is handmade by Nat from nattygai. If Strawberry-licious Scarlett has you dreaming of lazy summer afternoons and ice cream sundaes, don’t forget to tell us in the comments section below. Each comment will count as a vote for Nattygai towards the Golden Plushie award.
Scarlett is fresh from the strawberry patch ready for summer fun ~ but what she loves the most is snuggling and cuddling with her favourite friend, you! Her face is made from felt, as is the co-ordinating strawberry on her tummy. All her special features are designed, cut and sewn by hand. Her tummy is made from soft white chenille and the rest of her is made from a combination of quality 100% cotton fabrics in a ‘strawberry’ coloured palette. Inside Scarlett is an eco-friendly, completely sustainable fill made from 100% natural corn. The fibers are non-allergenic and odour free.
Nat Donnelly, Melbourne based artist/designer and crafty mind behind nattygai started her business earlier this year. She draws inspiration from all aspects of her life… her little girl’s smile, the warmth of the afternoon sunshine, the smell of freshly brewed coffee. In her own words… “it’s amazing how the greatest ideas come from the smallest beginnings. In our world of fast paced mass production, I take the time to create original and unique items to be enjoyed and cherished.”
